A rare piece of early 20th-century Cornish folk art, removed from a cottage in Tintagel, Cornwall. According to its accompanying provenance, the stool was handmade by the previous owner’s grandfather, who was badly injured during WWI and later found work assembling wooden spring clothes pegs. This small chip-carved stool is believed to have been made by him, possibly as a gift for his child. Its intricate hand-carved decoration and deeply aged finish make the personal history behind it all the more special.
