Antique French Vendange Tilt-Top Wine Table | Circa 1900
A beautiful French vendange table, traditionally used in the vineyards during the grape harvest. These practical tables provided a gathering place for vineyard workers to share meals in the fields and were also used for tasting and serving wine. The round plank-built top tilts vertically for easy storage and transport, set over a sculptural trestle base with gracefully curved supports and shaped feet. Generations of use have given the wood a wonderfully warm, timeworn patina.
Dimensions:
44.5" L x 44.5" D x 28.5" H
Age-related wear throughout, including surface scratches, marks, old worm holes and losses along the stretcher. Later metal brackets have been added beneath the top for reinforcement.
