French Champagne Harvest Basket No. 3 | Circa 1890
A large 19th-century French champagne harvest basket, handwoven from willow and originally used during the grape harvest. This example has particularly graphic remnants of green and black painted markings across the exterior, contrasted by its warm, weathered willow. The substantial woven rim and richly aged surface give it a beautifully sculptural presence.
Sold individually, three available.
Dimensions:
34" L x 26" D x 20.5" H
Wonderful antique condition with expected wear, losses and old repairs to the weave, and remnants of original painted markings.
