French Champagne Harvest Basket No. 1 | Circa 1890
A large 19th-century French champagne harvest basket, handwoven from willow and originally used during the grape harvest. This example has a beautifully timeworn surface with remnants of deep green painted markings, a warm golden-brown patina, and substantial woven bands around the body and rim. Its irregularities and wear speak to its original working life in the vineyards.
Sold individually; three available.
Dimensions:
33.5" L x 27" D x 22.5" H
Wonderful antique condition with expected wear, losses to the weave, and remnants of old green paint throughout.
