de Sede DS-80 Leather Sofa / Daybed | Circa 1970
An iconic DS-80 sofa and daybed by de Sede of Switzerland, upholstered in beautifully aged cognac patchwork leather over its distinctive black-lacquered slatted wood frame. Designed for versatility, the three loose back cushions and two side cushions can be removed entirely, transforming the sofa into a generous daybed. The richly patinated leather shows wonderful variation from decades of use and gives this early example particular character.
Dimensions:
76.75" W x 35" D x 35.5" H
Frame height with armrests: 18.5"
Good vintage condition with substantial, beautifully developed patina to the original leather, including surface wear, marks, discoloration and creasing. Age-related scuffs and finish loss to the black-lacquered wood frame.
