Antique English Pine Tall Wardrobe, Two Doors, Internal Drawers | Circa 1880
A beautifully simple and increasingly sought-after example of late 19th-century English pine. This wardrobe embodies everything collectors love about the material—warm honey tones, visible knots, and a patina that only develops after well over a century of use. English pine has surged in demand for its versatility and authenticity, equally at home in traditional interiors or paired with more modern spaces.
The form is classic and functional, with double paneled doors opening to a generous interior fitted with a hanging rail and a bank of four drawers below. We think it’d work great in an entryway or hallway to store both clothing and linens. The restrained design allows the character of the timber to take center stage, while the molded cornice adds just enough architectural presence.
Dimensions:
52” W x 19.25” D x 73.5” H
Cornice: 55” W x 20.5” D
Overall very good antique condition consistent with age. Surface wear, minor scuffs, and small marks throughout, all contributing to a rich, authentic patina. Interior shows expected wear from use. Drawers run smoothly. Structurally sound and solid. Later interior hanging rail present. No major restorations noted.
